At Crossroads Counseling, we ensure high-quality mental health care for our clients.

Our care providers meet established professional standards of education, training, and ethical conduct demonstrated and validated by appropriate diplomas, licenses, and certificates. We ensure that staff have sufficient training to maintain qualifications and competence to perform all services offered.

Crossroads Counseling realizes that trust is a cornerstone of the counseling relationship. Our counselors aspire to earn the trust of clients by creating an on-going partnership, establishing and upholding appropriate boundaries, and maintaining confidentiality. Staff will not share confidential information without the client’s consent or without sound, legal, or ethical justification.

Jill J Sprague MA, LCPC

I received my BS in Psychology from Boise State University in 1994 and my MA in School Counseling from Boise State University in 1998. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Idaho since June 2000 and received my private-practice endorsement in 2004.

My theoretical approach is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Methods. I assist my clients in problem solving by looking at contradictions/errors in thinking patterns and/or behaviors and help them facilitate change through expressed areas of internal conflict and/or discomfort. I am also a solution-focused therapist and will take an eclectic approach in the use of counseling techniques in order to reach the client’s desired outcomes. I also believe that a client’s personal spiritual health is vital to overall well-being and when appropriate I will assist the client in utilizing their spiritual supports.

Counselor/Case Manager

Lisa R Southard MSW, LCSW

I received my AA in Business Management from the Modesto Junior College in 1988 and my BA in Sociology from California State University Stanislaus in 1993. I then received my Master of Social Work in 1997 from California State University Stanislaus.

I have since become a Licensed Clinical Social worker in California, Oregon and Idaho. As well as maintaining my licensure as a Master of Social Work, with board certifications from the Bureau of Occupational Licenses Department of Self-Governing Agencies, the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Behavioral Sciences, and the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers.

In addition, I also specialize in Dementia, Compassion Fatigue, Complementary & Alternative Healthcare, and Natural Health. I have put my education and drive to help others to great use in settings such as Counseling Clinics, Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and Hospice.

Rachael Spear

I received my BA in Psychology from South University Georgia in 2021 and am currently interning at Crossroads Counseling and will graduate with an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy from Northcentral University in 2026.

I believe we all possess the power to change our lives for the better, and I see my role as a facilitator in creating that positive change. In doing so, I draw on a family systems approach and believe strongly that individuals are best understood within their present contexts. I seek to help clients identify goals for therapy within the framework of their lives, while employing a variety of methods that tailor to each individual’s unique situation. I use tools derived from Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and other Family Systems models to help clients identify strengths, enhance communication skills, and identify solutions for sustainable change.

Rachael Spear

Rachael Spear received her BA in Psychology from South University Savanna, Georgia in July 2021. She has been certified by the State of Idaho Division of Behavioral Health to practice as a Certified Peer Support Specialist in the state of Idaho.

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, Rachael uses her personal experience with mental illness and recovery to offer hope and encouragement by sharing her experiences and knowledge. Rachael creates opportunities for recovering individuals to facilitate change to live the life they desire while identifying and focusing on their strengths. She provides hope for individuals by offering:

Office Manager

Rachael Spear

Rachael Spear has been at Crossroads for three years. Frequently referred to as the "goofball" of the office, Rachael is always quick with a joke while doing everything in her power to ensure that the office runs efficiently and smoothly. Rachael grew up in Emmett, has been married for eighteen years, is a mom and an animal lover. When she's not at Crossroads, Rachael is homeschooling her children and involved in various community non-profit institutions.

Receptionist

Erica Rice

Erica Rice has been with Crossroads for two years. You will find her greeting you from the front desk or on the phone.

Outside of the office, Erica helps run her family farm and sells their produce to local farm stands.

Therapy Animal

Billy

Billy is Crossroads new emotional support dog. He is sweet and playful and you will often find him chewing on his dog bone or asking for treats. Billy loves to spend time with everyone coming into the office and is always down for a pet.
