Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Browse below to review the answers to the most common questions we receive. If anything is still unclear, get in touch and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance carriers, including Medicaid. We do not, however, accept Medicare or Tricare.

The best way to know if our clinicians are contracted with your specific insurance policy is to call the customer service number located on the back of your insurance card to verify.

Will my insurance cover therapy?

With such a wide variety of insurance carriers and policies, it is difficult to provide a "yes or no" answer.

We cannot guarantee that your insurance has Mental Health coverage. When you come in for your initial visit, we will verify your benefits, based on the insurance information you provide us. If you would like to know your policy's coverage ahead of time, we would suggest that you call your insurance and ask about your mental health benefits.

How much does counseling cost?

In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their federal rights and protections against “surprise billing.” This Act requires that we notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if a client is uninsured, or if a client elects not to use their insurance.

Additionally, we are required to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services.

It is difficult to determine the true length of treatment for mental health care. Each client has a right to decide how long they would like to participate in mental health care treatment. Therefore, below you will find a fee schedule for the services typically offered by your counselor. Your counselor will collaborate with you on a regular basis to determine how many sessions you may need.

Fees vary based on the amount of time in each session and the type of session. There will be an initial evaluation and planning session which will be repeated annually. After the initial session, you may be seen for 45 minutes, once a week, depending upon your needs.

Fees may be paid in part or in whole by your insurance company. Copays and Deductibles are your responsibility. Scholarships are available based on needs/requests.

Do you have a Sliding Scale?

In short, no. However, we do have the opportunity to offer a Scholarship Program to those that qualify. In order for an individual to be eligible for the Crossroads Counseling Scholarship Program, they must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • the individual does not have insurance

  • the assigned clinician is not a participating provider for the individual's insurance

  • the assigned clinician currently elects not to contract with the individual's insurance

  • the individual has a deductible over $1,000.00 that has not been met

The Crossroads Counseling Scholarship Program offers a 25% rate reduction for any billable service that Crossroads charges. Qualifying individuals are required to sign a waiver of understanding that informs them of their scholarship status and criteria attestation.
