The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.

Idaho Careline 2-1-1

The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a free, statewide community information and referral service, and is a program of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.  The comprehensive database includes programs that offer free or low-cost health and human services or social services.  Simply dial 2-1-1 or 800-926-2588 or text 898211 to be connected to a

2-1-1 community resource specialist Monday – Friday, 8 am – 6 pm MST.

ROSE Advocates

Established in 1988 as a secret, underground network of volunteers and safe houses to help abused women and children. Throughout the years, ROSE Advocates has gone through many changes. Growing from being a secret underground organization, to having donated office space in the basement of the Washington County Courthouse, to a no-longer hidden, but well known public organization. Helping victims of sexual and domestic violence throughout, but not limited to, the six counties of Adams, Boise, Gem, Payette and Washington in the rural state of Idaho.

Recovery Idaho, Inc. DBA Gem County Recovery Community Center is a non-profit business that supports services for substance use and behavioral health issues. Free classes are available for anyone in need of help and support. The Recovery Center was started to serve the residents in Gem County and provide a safe, respectful place for those in recovery to interact with peers. The goal is to be self-sustaining and bring awareness and support regarding recovery to the community as they reduce stigma.
The mission of Recovery Idaho is to support the recovery community by collaborating with local groups and organizations in the development and delivery of community driven recovery support services. They work on behalf of all those impacted by recovery through service, education, and advocacy to remove the stigma and discrimination surrounding addictions and mental illness.

Food Pantries is not associated with any government agency or nonprofit organization. They list Food Pantries throughout the US. They also provide information on: food closets, food banks, soup kitchens, congregate meal locations, food boxes, vouchers, etc.

The Guest House

The Guest House is a Free Clothing Distribution Center designed to meet the needs of families in Gem County. We provide clothing, at no cost, for men, women, children and infants.  We have a wide selection of clothes as well as shoes, purses and other accessories.

Elderly Opportunity Agency

Incorporated in 1973 as a private nonprofit corporation devoted to providing services to persons aged 60 and over and persons with disabilities of any age. This is accomplished through programs provided by 18 senior centers located in eight SW Idaho counties. Programs include congregate meals, home delivered meals, transportation services, nutrition education, health promotion activities, socialization and recreational opportunities.
